I began code for this on the Atari ST, but I finally saw the light and sold my Atari ST and bought an IBM PC compatible. Oh, how that hurt. Even after five years, the Atari was still much better. But the PC now held well over 95% of the market, Apple in a distant 2nd place and the Atari down to less than 1%. I started learning DOS and 8088 assembly by converting Daymare 1 over first. I couldn't afford a sound card (a standard feature on the Atari), so sound effects were lost in the conversion. Within another year, I had programmed Daymare 2.
